Hi All,

Im a bit of a novice here with Mitel and was wondering how I could go about setting up the following.

I need to change our current Main reception number which I believe is a call forward to a 3rd party to a simple hardwareless phone number which goes directly to voicemail saying "Please email dave@davedave.dav"

I tried creating a normal extension but when dialing it I get Out of Service

Any ideas?

Thanks
Graeme

does it just have to say the message and hangup?

if so i would assign a rad hunt group , put a rad into it with a message attached

route calls to the rad hunt - message will be played and call dropped

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Yes, that sounds exactly what I need. How do I go about setting up a RAD Hunt group? Which Form is it located in?

Thanks again

You will need to have embedded voicemail working ( at least 1 mailbox license)
Then 1 port needs to be changed to a rad port

Rad hunt group is created under hunt groups and the vmail port added to it

message number needs to be assigned to the rad port

Message recorded via embedded vmail pilot management option 8

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Depending on the version on your Mitel 3300 you can create a nametag and re-route it to an announcement mbx in your EMEM.
If you do not have nametag hunt group capabilities, then create an phantom DN and always re-route it to an EMEM announcement mailbox.

Technology is going to kill us all!

Thanks again for eveyone's help. I have created a hunt group with the number I would the DDI number and set its "Type" to Voicemail. Is this correct?
Now do I simply create a VM with the same DDI in the VM Mailboxes form?

Cheers
Mo

Right, so I managed to get it working however I am now faced with the Mitel VM voice saying "Welcome" message here and then gives the ability to leave a message.

How can I set it so it just reads out a recorded message and then hangs up?

Cheers
Mo

Set the mailbox to menu node and it will play 3 times.
You then need to set the time out behavior to hang up.

Code:
Changing a Menu Node Mailbox Time Out Behavior

    Access the Administrator's Mailbox.

Press [2] to edit or delete mailboxes.
Press [2] for the Edit Mailbox menu.
Enter the mailbox number to edit.

Press [#] until you get to the Menu Node Time Out option. The system specifies the active Menu Node Time Out behavior:
"Disconnect on menu mailbox time out is disabled" – callers are sent to the mailbox operator upon time out.
"Disconnect on menu node time out is enabled" – callers are disconnected upon time out.

To disconnect callers upon time out, press [1] (enable disconnect).
To send callers to the mailbox operator upon time out, press [2] (disable disconnect).
Note: The default is "Disconnect on menu mailbox time out is disabled".
The system returns you to the mailbox.

I think im getting a bit mixed up here. This is what I have done so far

1. Created a VM mailbox on ext 3060 on menu node
2. created a hunt group on 3060 - Type set to Voice, but I have trid Voicemail too
3. Added 4001 (this number directs to VM system)as a member on the 3060 hunt group

Doing the above has got me as far as - I can dial 3060, My call hits the VM system and reads out my own personal greeting. Not the greeting for 3060
If I dial from an outside number to the full DDI 0101010 1010 3060 I get a funny tone but no message

Have I missed out any steps?

Thanks

Thanks Sarond. i will give this a try... if I can ever remember the password for the admin VM :S

@MoMurdoc

No doubt you're confused. The people above have provided 3 different methods that are unrelated except that they all use VM.

You stated that you are a novice and there is no way you could know this without people advising you

Method 1 - Billz66, Calls are terminated to a RAD port
[ul]
[li]This method has the simplicity factor but can be finicky to set up properly[/li]
[/ul]

Method 2 - ehecatl72, Calls route to a VM anouncement mailbox
[ul]
[li]This method is not my favourite as announcement mailboxes don't hang up when they're done[/li]
[/ul]

Method 3 - sarond - Calls route to a VM Menu Node
[ul]
[li]This method is what I would normally recommend as it is the easiest to understand[/li]
[/ul]

Where you appear to have gone wrong
The hunt group you set up is simply for steering digits (integration) with mailbox 3060. It should not have any members and should be a voice type mailbox
The hunt group must be routed (forwarded) to VM in and always condition
Calling the hunt group will deliver the integration digits 3060 to the VM and it will answer with the greeting from Menu node 3060
Sarond detailed how to force the menu node to hang up but he did not mention this is done via mailbox 9999 option 2 then option 2 again - be very cautious in the admin MB DO NOT DIAL Menu Option 1!!!!

Thanks KwbMitel

I have changed the hunt group 3060 so it is now "Voice" type with the Mode "Ternminal"

I have removed all Members. The problem now is it Says Out Of Service when Dialing 3060. How to I get the hunt group to forward to VM as you described?

The hunt group must be routed (forwarded) to VM in and always condition

Thanks

There is a form - Call Rerouting

In this form you can designate a termination point for Day, Night1, Night 2, first Alternative and 2nd alternative

Most installers use the value of 2 for voicemail

To verify the value, look in form Call Rerouting Always alternative and verify the termination point for index 2 is voicemail

Addendum to above

You need to designate the Day nt1 and nt2 fields only.

Success!

Thanks again for all your help :D
