Hello. This is a two part question. When we use our call history to dial back a missed call we have to edit the number by inserting a 9 in front of it for a local call. Is there a setting somewhere within the controller to automatically insert that 9? Obviously we have the same issue if the missed call is long distance. Is there a table that could be built to insert 9 and 1 if the number is not local? Your help is much appreciated!! Thank you!

System Options Assignment form -> Outgoing External Call Prefix for Applications setting should do it.

It is a global setting though and doesn't distinguish local vs. long distance. But if you are able to dial 1+area code for local calls as well then setting it to 91 should work.

I made the change. There was no previous entry. Does this require a reboot of the controller? There is no change in that it does not automatically insert the digits to dial. It is still set to manually edit the number. Thanks

The change is not retroactive (On existing history)

Should not require reboot.

Try with new history logged after change.

Yes. I had assumed old history would not be modified therfore I placed a test call and attempted to dial again. No change. Thoughts?

Are you using the call history 'application' on a 5330, 5340, 5360?
If so, I don't think it looks at the 9 that is set in System Options. (could be a bug or 'by design' depending on tech support)
Add a call history 'feature' key. This won't give as much detail as the call history application but it will allow a callback without dialing 9.

Thank you lowradiation. You are correct, if I add a call history feature key it does allow call back. On a 5340 or 5330 we were using the superkey call history app it does not insert the 9 for dial back without editing the number first. I'm assuming by design at this point. Thanks All!

well done lowradiation.
