I have a Mitel 3300 on 4.2 that will not give busy tone. When an extn is busy and you call it internally it gives NU as if the phone is out of service or not programmed on the system. If you call the busy phone from an external location it just cuts off.

Doesn't even camp on and I have checked all the settings in the COS and even tried the "force device busy when any line in use", to no avail. There are no call forwards intercepts, interconnects, or any other issues that would cause the phones to do this. Its happening system wide and I’m pulling what’s left of my hair out trying to resolve.....

I have tried the tone demonstration and the busy tone is ok on the system

Anyone any suggestions

Have you got the camp on timer set to zero...?

The camp on timer should be blank to return busy straight away or have a positive value; the help file explains.

I have tried both, the camp on timer with positive value and blank, stil the same.

It's a long shot but has someone changed call reroute number 1 to go to an unassigned number on busy. I'm sure you've checked but I can't see any other way this could happen.

All I ever wanted to do was climb telephone poles - where did it all go wrong?

This is a strange one, but in the end I have resolved. The problem was due to the “ONS/OPS Internal Ring Cadence for External Callers” was to yes in the user class of service.. As soon as I set this to “No” the busy tone started working again.

That is bizzar. That option is to have a phone give a single ring on external calls not the normal double ring. Did you do an upgrade recently?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
