Mitel 3300 analog ports that pick up and immediately put caller on hold

I recently inherited a Mitel 3300 phone system and in a recent storm two of the analog ports that were used for fax machines stopped working. Dead and no dial tone. A reset of the system did not help. Fortunately, there were spare ports that were functional so I moved both lines to one of the working ports. Everything seemed ok. But, now when calling these two analog extensions, it rings twice and then immediately puts the caller on hold. That is what the IP set that I am calling from is telling me. And, I cannot make outside calls. This is a problem with line permissions on those ports and I am fairly sure I can figure that out, but the incoming calls being placed on hold immediately has me stumped. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Craig

Embedded card or ASU's? I thnink that the ports are faulty especially if they are on the same card as the other ports that have gone faulty during the storm.....

ASU. It is on another card on that ASU but it is on the same ASU. So you are suggesting that the ASU is bad? I only use a handful of ports on that unit but they are critical ports ( fax lines and ski lift phones).

How is the used market for motel parts?

I haven't tried all of the spare ports on all of the cards as of yet. But I have moved lines to each of the cards so all three cards have been tried. In looking at it briefly, it didn't appear that there were removable cards. I'm used to seeing the cards in my Avaya switch. In researching, the hardware doesn't seem crazy expensive. On the Avaya side, I've never lost a chassis, only line cards. I'm thinking that maybe the case here. Since the phone is getting dialtone, just behaving erratically, perhaps i just need to replace the line cards.

In the mitel world is it as simple as pulling out the card and sliding in a new one?

Which ASU is iT though? Universal and ASU no.ASU2 yes and hot swappable.

The part # is 56002334 on the back and it just says ASU on the front. It's not in front of me but it doesn't appear to have any removable cards. In the interface it is listed as a 3300 ASU. As I said I'm not all that familiar with the mitel platform at this point so the hardware is new to me and unfortunately it sits an hour away.

This is an oler ASU with 24 analog ports or The universal ASU has 16 analog ports and 6 trunk ports. I would think it you get ring and immediately put on hold then ASU is defective. There are no replacable parts.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Ok-
Thank you for the help. I've found one used one on ebay which I might just pick up to see if it works; it's cheap enough. And I have a couple of quote requests out to resellers. If you have any favorite resellers, please share.

Thanks again for the help. Very much appreciated. And I'll save your tcp/udp joke for future reference!
