Our receptionist at DN110 is assigned the general delivery mail box. I also need to give her another box so that she will appear under her own name in the company directory. I set up a mailbox under DN203, which is an unused DN. I set up an answer DN key on her set for DN203 and almost everything works. Outside callers can dial her name and it gets to her box. Inside callers can reach her phone by dialing either 110 or 203. VM transfers work to either mailbox. I just can't get the autodial buttons to work on other extensions to be able to VM transfer to 203. I set up keys on the other stations that have CAPs for extension 203 and I can use the CAP key to place an intercom call 203, but I can't use the CAP key to VM Transfer to 203. I get the message "No button free". Also, I can't get the message waiting indicator to work when there are calls in the 203 mailbox. Any ideas?
Thanks!

You will not get message waiting indication unless she sits at 203, and you can not program an auto dial key for transfer to vmail, you have to physically enter the extension/mailbox # after you hit the VM Transfer Key.

We get this a lot from our customers - a receptionist wanting a personal mailbox. You can only have 1 mbox assigned to a phone. And not possible to transfer callers to a mailbox using autodial buttons.

You did not mention the type of equipment you're using, but a Call Pilot can be setup with message notification to an extension. If a message is left in mbox #203, the system will call x110 and allow receptionist to log in & retrieve message.

I'm pretty sure this feature is available on older voicemail systems, too. Good luck!

I forgot to mention, by using message notification, you only have to setup a Guest mbox. Saves time and aggrevation of setting up virtual extension, Answer DN, & etc.

How come I can VM transfer using the CAP to all the other extensions. Aren't the CAP keys just autodial keys?
