I am adding an expansion cabinet to give me 4 more Loop start trunks coming in from the C.O. I have everything installed and have dial tone at the punch-down block where the 25 pair cable connects. I have checked for, and have, continuity from the pins on the Amphenol 25 pair connector that connects to the expansion trunk card to the block... meaning I have dialtone reaching the pins of the 50 pn connector that plugs into the expansion card. The wire colors are:

White-Blue ------------ Line 049
Blue White

White Orange------------ Line 050
Orange White

Skip two pairs of terminals then

White Slate ------------ Line 051
Slate White

Red Blue ------------- Line 052
Blue Red

The Fiber optic cable is connected to the top connector on the MICS. The TM expansion card is in the left-most connector (out of 3) in the expansion cabinet. The half width interface card in the MICS is in the right side of the empty slot which is just to the right of the power supply.

PROBLEM:
I have assigned the 4 new loop start lines to buttons on a T7316E set but never get dialtone to the phone. Am I using the correct wire colors to connect the loop start lines to the Trunk Module? Are Lines 049-052 the correct line numbers? Does it sound like the TM is defective?? Can you suggest any further tests to determine what is wrong and whether I have a defective TM??

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. -- Thanks!

-what is your software
-have you rebooted the entire system
-is the green power light on in the 12x0 TM
-do you see the hardware in maintenance

I see your software is 1.0. Did you try dialing the numbers to see if they ring in anywhere Prime.

Thanks to all who responded to my appeal for help! Unfortunately I still have the problem and am stuck!

Thanks! I already had the wiring chart for the Amphenol connector but it doesnt tell me what colors I connect the 4 new loop start lines on the 50 pin block that has the cable with the 25 pair Amphenol connector. Since my expansion card is in slot 1, am I correct that the first LS trunk connects to the White-Blue pair? What will be the first line number? 049? 061?

2. Yes I have removed power from both main cabinet and expansion cabinet, then plugged in the expansion cabinet first, then main cabinet. After about 3-4 minutes it was booted. All other LoopStart trunks are accessible at phones but not the 4 new ones (the new ones are assigned to ring & appear on one phone now for troubleshooting.)
3. Yes, green power light is on.
4. In <Maintenance> <Module Status> <Show Module> I see:
- 20 sets on KSU with 6 sets busy at this moment
- 2 TC's on TM2 with 3 lines busy
- Module 3 Empty
- 1 TC on TM4 (It was disabled! I enabled it and it now shows 0 lines busy but I still do not get dial tone on those lines when assigned to a button on phone.)
5. Yes, I have dialed the numbers and they do not ring anywhere including Prime.

When I try to access one of the lines, after a ferw seconds the display on the phone shows "Out of Service" with a fast busy signal.

====================
Are the four new line numbers 049-052? 061-064?

Does my problem sound like the expansion TC is defective?

Thanks in advance for replies!

What do you get when you check the status of port 801?

You are talking about the 6 port fiber card in what the cabinet has labeled slot 2? The first few top fiber ports in slot 2 are the only ports that can take a trunk module. If you have 2 6 port fiber cards, you need to move something to free up the top port for the trunk module.

Sounds like it might be time to get a Norstar tech in to get this going.

The assistance of a Nortel Tech won't be necessary.
It is working now -- Sometime Yesterday I must have disabled the trunk cartridge in "Maintenance" and discovered what I had done this morning while stepping thru all the software items to make sure I had not left something incorrectly set.... I had, and it now works perfectly.
Thanks to each of you who responded to me for all the help and useful suggestions.
