MICS SOFTWARE VERSIONS AND COMPATIBILITY

I HAVE A MICS WITH 4.1XC ATTACHED IS A NAM 4.0.04. I NEED TO USE PORTS 13 AND 14 TO ADD TWO MORE 0X16s. I AM TOLD THE 7.1XC SOFTWARE WILL ENABLE THEM, BUT THEN MY NAM WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. DOES THE 7.0XC ALSO SUPPORT PORTS 13 AND 14 ON THE EXPANSION, AND AM I CORRECT THAT THE 4.0 NAM IS SUPPORTED BY 7.0 SYSTEM SOFTWARE?

ALSO I PLAN I DOING THIS UPGRADE WITHOUT THE TOOL BY GOING TO 6.1XC THEN SWAPPING THE NVRAM AND UPGRADING TO 7.X. I AM TOLD THIS WAY WILL NOT WIPE MY PROGRAMMING. MY VENDOR WILL LET ME BORROW THE 6.1 TO GET IT DONE

Correct on upgrade procedure as well 7.0 XC will open the ports.

As for NAM it will need to be upgraded to 4.1.

IS THERE A WAY TO UPGRADE THE 4.0 NAM TO 4.1 WITHOUT LOSING MAILBOXES AND PROGRAMMING? WE HAVE APPROX. 80 USERS AND PROGRAMMING WOULD BE A SUPER PITA

Any upgrade should not loose programming on most things in life if done correctly.
