Hi There:

Working on a MICS, XC 2.0, with two 6 port fiber expansion cards, NAM fiber, 2 12X0 Fiber, 7 0X16 fiber station modules.

This leaves two empty fiber ports on the expansion card to the left. (Top two).

Can we add another 0X16, or is this thing tapped?
I've got a good fiber 0X16 and cable. What would the procedure be to install?

I am thinking, power down, make connections, power up, or is it more complicated than that?

Customer has only one station port available to use at this time, they may need more in the future.

Regards...

If u only have the top two left then no you're maxed out. Those two are reserved for companion. In order to use those last two ports, u need to upgrade to s/w 7.0.

Okay, upgrading to 7.0 or 7.1 would then cause the older NAM to become inoperapble.....corect?

You are right, though. If your NAM isn't at 4.1 (log into f983, then press 9- will show current version), then you'll have to upgrade that first, before upgrading the phone system.

Yuk, too much work for an old system like that, they won't want to spend that kind of coin on it. Thanks for confirming what I thought would be the case.

you may want to put some refurbished equipment to reduce the cost
