Well lets see if this will be deleted. So I will try again.

Can an older MICS with a non fiber NAM accomidate PRI 2 way DID service or only analog trunks?

WHAT RELEASE OF SOFTWARE

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

If I remember right I think that 4.0 would do PRI but there were issues.

As Perry and Hawks suggested, you'll want to upgrade. R 6.1 or 7.0 is your best bet. I believe there was a maintenance release for 6.1, make sure you go with that if not going to 7.

If you choose to upgrade the phone system you may also have to upgrade the NAM. What RLS is it?

I will check. The customer deinstlaled it and now I have it to reinstall.

He wants DID so I am thinking the best way is to just get seperate B1 lines and route them to each station. No answer they will get voice mail or I can have them overflow to another station if the line is busy ot no answer using the telco Call Forward No answer busy or Clal Forward Busy or set them up in a hunt group.

Thanks! I will get the versions for you as soon as I have it mounted and get it on line.

In the meantime here is what I have MICS, NAM, MOX8 & MOX16.

I don'r work on these most of the time so can you let me know what the MOX8 and MOX16 are. I assume they are the station and telco interfaces bt just want to make sure.

Remember the customer took this off the wall so I could not make notes and mark cables.

The M016 is a digital station mod for 16 digital sets
The M08 is a analog station mod for 8 analog sets
you should have a fiber card for the main cab these start from the buttom port and work up.

Yes, both have the fiber cable. There are two fiber ports on one card. There is one vacent 25 pair AMP on the MICS with an icon of a telephone pole. I assume that is were the copper service terminates if I remember.

Theonly sets I have worked on before are the 7310's. The M08 is therefor for a standard station set or device like a modem or fax?

This is the first time I have worked on a T-1 on a MICS. I have located the T-1 RJ45 port on the card in the KSU.

I confirmed with the customer that this unit was connected to the previous T-1 and that it had a PRI with 40 DID's.

I need instructions now how to progam the new PRI and how to route DID numbers to each station.

Don't be upset with my suggestion. If you can, get documentation and read that first. That would be a good starting point. I can learn better if I read about it first and then try to do it myself.
