I am getting ready to install a purchased 8x24 with a NAM I think I am ready to set it up but I keep running into issues this is an older system and I am just getting to grips with the the nortel numbering system. What I thought was a MICS is an 8x24. I have a NAM 4.1 and a the 824 is version 5.1. I am going to have to reset everything once I get it wired but I think I have a good idea what to do there. The problem is now I have to wire this NAM to the KSU and to do that I have to use the DS-30 Adapter which I have but I have no instructions. I am pretty comfortable on a 66 block and I know that basically the adapter converts a number of station ports into the ds-30 fiber lines but I have no install guide can anyone help me?

Havent seen one in over 10 years but think you just wire up the pins from the jacks to digital ports, 2 pairs per jack?.
Then fiber plugs in.

No programming that I recall for a DS30

I recieved this system as part of an office reclaimation and the system was fully functional 2 yrs ago when we reclaimed it. Is this system as a whole worth the time and trouble I amean the phones are in good shape and the ksu has been running steady is their anything I should knwo before installing this into a client site or should it just be run till it stiops kinda thing?

I am sorry I had another question which is much more important, which station ports on the KSU do I use? Does it matter which ones or should I use like 1-8? I thought 1 was my default phone and had to be a station. and how do I know how man to jook up or should I just hook up all 8?
Thanks for all the answers it has been most helpful as I am new to Nortel Equip....Avaya = np! but Nortel??!! I am a little iffy.

KSU and NAM is EOL but you do have the latest software on both.
Suggest to start with reception set on port 101 and DS30 ports 117-124.

There is some wiring charts and other good info in our FAQ's tab up top if you need.
