MICS 7.1 not holding settings after restart - even after FastRAD/NRU restore

I have a MICS 7.1 KSU, that doesn't seem to hold settings after losing power. I found this out as we just had an extended power outage and the MICS ran through the UPS on it and poof, settings gone. I had recently backed it up with NRU/FastRAD just in case of problems. So I restored the system programming from backup and it appears to complete successfully, performs a warm restart after being in Maintenance mode for about 5-10 minutes. Problem is, no settings have been restored. I looked at a copy of the backup file in notepad and I can clearly see set names and the like in the file. Any advice as to what could be the cause and possible remedies (other than kicking it to the curb)?

There is a backup capacitor on the MICS motherboard. It has likely reached the end of the line. If you have decent soldering skills the capacitor can be replaced.
