Here is my situation. I recently upgraded an Mics with NA 4.0 non XC to NA 6.1 non XC with the new release 2 sleeve. All went well. I am trying to get the basic call center for CP 150 monitor to work. Right now at 6.1 I can only monitor a call that comes inbound to the skillset from the managers postion. From what I understand I need to go to at least Mics 7.0 for monitor to work on all calls inbound or outbound as long as the parties are logged into the skillset. My question is can I purchase a new 7.0 or 7.1 non XC software and upgrade the MICS to that new level without needing a upgrade tool. Power down take out 6.1 and put 7.1 in. Like I stated XC is a non issue. Is it true that if I take it to 7.0 at least that the managers will be able to monitor inbound and outbound calls as long as both parties are logged in to the propers skillsets. Thanks

Thank you for the 2nd and 3rd opinions. From reading former posts just wanted to make sure. Backups are a must and a no brainer absolutely. Any comments about the monitor feature on basic call center wheather it will work for incoming and outbound calls? Just may have to trust that the documentation is right, and that it will work at the 7.0 level. Doing all of the upgrades just for this feature.

Just for future searches here is what I have done so far. Customer wanted inbound and outbound supervisor monitor on basic call center. Originally customer had NA Mics 4.0 software and adding a call pilot wtih basic call center keycode. Here is how I got this far.

Made backup of Mics at 4.0. Powered system down and installed new release 2 NVRAM with original 4.0 software installed into it. Powered system up and system and config came up fine after a pretty normal reboot time. Minor programming check to confirm.

Powered system down again, and removed 4.0 PCMIA card, and installed new 6.1 card into new release 2 NVRAM. Powered system back up and after fairly normal reboot Mics was now on 6.1 with no programming loss. Just a note some of the lines will renumber when you hop to 6.1. Did an XFTEST to remove inactive feature codes to clear the way for new call pilot install. Installed and built new Callpilot 150. At this point everything with new software and call pilot are good. At release 6.1 silent monitor will only monitor inbound calls to a skillset. Any other kind of call you do not get a observe softkey to monitor call. Will update further if I find out that going to at least 7.0 gets more functional monitor for all calls. I will do my best to finish the thread, I hate reading posts with no outcome. LOL Thank you for the help thus far.

Call Center is on the Callpilot, your question needs to be will your version of CP work on 7.X, functionality is that of the CP and not the MICS......without knowing what version CP you have its difficult to answer the question assuming it is a question.
As for lines renumbering and new feature you need to read the "whats New" section of the manual for the software you want to install/have.
