I have a site that has a MICS with PRI. They have been running smooth for about five years and now a few times a day they are unable to make calls. They dial 9 then the number and the phone releases on them when they enter the last digit. The second time they try, it works. I'm curious if someone else has seen this problem before I start throwing parts at it.

Thanks,
Jeff

will this change the SYSID? I don't want it to mess with the PRI enabler.

More info on this problem.

I can make two calls without any problems. When I place the third call it disconnects every time.

Have you tried resetting the DTI card? Also, de-provision and re-provision the DTI channels. If you can make 2 successful calls then the 3rd drops, sounds like it could be the PRI circuit. Have telco take down the circuit after hours and test. Majority of the time, it fix's issues (even though they say their are none).

Yeah I've had the same intermittent problem a few times and it usually ends up being fixed after fighting with the telco.. they'll eventually "change a setting" that will make it work .. (Only after blaming the system a few times ofcourse)

Guess you can "tell a fib" and say you swapped out all existing equipment with new and the problem still exists. Next, have the customer threatin to go to a different carrier for their service. Just suggestions.

Tomorrow we are swapping out the DTI Cartridge, If that doesn't work we are replacing the entire system with a 7.0 MICS
