I purchased a Nortel/Meridian MICS system as part of a an office reclaimation project for a former client. I have finally after a year sold the unit to a current client looking to expand a little. I have the Install Guide for the KSU and most of the coordinator guides. I even found the install manueal for the NAM online. My problem is I need start over from scratch but I saw some where that it is best to reset the NAM before resetting the KSU. My question is what is the best order to reset these and how do I reset them? I have no problem doing the wiring having installed a couple of Avaya systems, and a Panasonic.

can't give passwords here ,but you can find in the guides.
but the way to do it is

default the nam first

feature 983 (password)
press 1
enter (password)

nam now defaulted

power down mics
power back up
within 10 minutes press
feature **startup
enter (password)
setup ext length and such

misc now setup

press feature 983
display will show log
enter password follow prompt

nam now ready

If the system was already disconncted do I have to wire the whole thing up first or just enough to get the NAM and KSU powered up?

Passwords...oh great..I think I might have them but if they have been changed can I reset them first then default the units?

just need the ksu and 1 set and the nam hooked up

you will need to know the passwords to get into programming
you maybe able to reset the mics by putting in a older software and it will cold start

the nam has a master password reset code(it's in the manual)

I read that the settings on the MICS only last 3 days. Will this affect the NAM or can I still hook them up and reset the nam then reset the mics or is the nam in trouble?

what setting on the mics, if you mean the programming ,if the internal batteries are good they should hold for 6 months or more,,and if not the nam will still connect

thanks, we will see what happens...if i get a problem I'll Be Back. hehe

One last shot...after I reset the NAM, before I factory the MICS, do I power the NAM back down till the MICS is configured or do I configure them together?

Thanks again.

if the nam is up and the mics goes down the nam will reboot untill it connects, should power down nam and reboot mics then when mics is up ,then power up nam
