I am working on a MICS 4.1 with a fractional PRIthat is not working. Here is what I have done.
Loaded PRI keycode and DTI card is enabled as a PRI.
Prog route 001 to use PRI-A
Create dest code of 9and any
Deprovisioned channels 11-23 using only 1-10
Disabled 11-23 in Link Status
All phones have access to the PRI-A
The carrier is AT&T and we have verified the protocol as NI2.PRI parameters ESF,B8ZS verified.
There tech's can dial off the NIU with no problem. The cables have been replaced and hard loops have been made and the connections are good. Also verified with Bell that Dchannel is 24. That is where the problem is according to Bell. The DTI card has been replaced. I have done several of these PRI cuts and something on this one is wrong. Thanks for any help.

Did you program a Business Name

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

Do you get green lights on the DTI?

Does it show your D-channel as being up?

Have you changed your ascending/descending setting?

I have a blinking yellow and green light.
We have verified connectivity but the D-channel is not up.

Do you have a services card or combo card
Is the clocking derived from the line

you must be having some network alarms in the 4x range
for troubleshooting - i wud try changing the service card.

What is the alarm status on the DTI when there is no line connected? Is there any difference?

Just for the heck of it - program the card as a T1 and see if it goes green

We are using a service card(slot1) and a 2port fiber card(Slot2). I looped the DTI card directly with a loop plug and the state did not change. This is the second DTI card used so I am replacing the service card with a combo card. Will let you know thanks for the help.

in addition to what hawks said -
- remove both cards and put combo in slot 2
- if that doesnt workout dont downgrade to original hardware - that WILL default the system

where is the yellow light on one of the trans/rec toward the top or are you talking about the light above the green...did u made sure that you re-enabled it after you chgd it to pri?

I am good with the card locations. One thing the protocol for this PRI from AT&T is National NI2 and they are using a DS-100 switch.

If the alarm lamp status does not change with physical loopback - then its not the carrier problem (atleast not yet)

And like norstarboy asked - check card status under maint

Are you using a crossover or straight through cable to DTI. Whatever it is switch it.

I have tried both cables and card status stays the same. I have a service card on the way and will try again monday morning. Hope to have good news. Thanks

What specifically isn't working? Is the circuit coming up at all? Can ATT see the MICS? If you're using the other half for data, is that working? Can you call in or out, or simply no link?

The default answer for a non-link issue would be upgrade software, but I always hate to go down that road unless I absolutely have to. You might want to try to get them to dispatch someone with a Tberd to prove that their circuit is good, and go from there.

Also, if this is just a call out issue, check your config to make sure your Ascend/Descend is opposite theirs.

Another point made on another thread, and I'll quote myself-

"To elaborate- the crossover pinout for a T1 is 568B on one side, then swap blue and orange pairs on the other.

PIN COLOR
1 w/bl
2 bl/w
3 w/gr (not used)
4 or/w
5 w/or
6-8 whatever-not used"

try using the other half of the channels and chang from ascending to descending or vise versa
