Has anyone ever integrated Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 with an Avaya CM4.1 for the purpose of conference calling and/or web meetings? If so, what kind of integration did you use and how difficult was it to put into place?

Many thanks in advance.

I have messed around with OCS 2007. Never really got too far with it because of all the requirements and I was just doing it in my basement. Everything that I read led me to believe this can be done with SIP. OCS doesn't support H.323 trunks natively and unfortunately CM 4 doesn't support SIP natively. Microsoft's recommendation is to use a gateway in between the two systems. I read a few examples that used a third party H.323 software for OCS. The software is not finished and is definitely not supported. And I found one, yes only one, example where someone used CM 4 with SES to connect. They had a few problems getting it to work though.

Your best bet is to just Google it and read up on it. I can tell you right now, everything you read at first is going to point to using a gateway. If you dig a little deeper you'll find the few examples I was talking about, if they're still up. I'll post them here later if I find them... I really need to start saving that kind of stuff.

I was afraid it was going to go that way. Thanks for the anecdote. TPTB will have me continue looking, but you'll generally find the best information from the people that have actually tried.
