I have an MGCP gateway configure to call an HDX (POTS phone). Configured with a route pattern so I can call the POTS phone through the HDX (PRI), I cannot call from the HDX into the CUCM (unless I delete the route pattern). Of course if I don't have the route pattern I cannot call from the VoIP phone to the HDX though. What could be the root of this issue?

I don't see how an outbound route pattern would affect an inbound call unless the inbound calls matches the route pattern somehow which would send the call back out. More details please

I'm not using anything to call out (ex. 9 to call out). The before issue the MGCP gateway was unregistering randomly, but now it's still registered when calls are failing. I am however using a wildcard "xxx-xxxx" as the route pattern which I'm thinking is the issue though. I've changed the route pattern to "xxx-[^9]xxx" because the call manager is the only switch that uses the 9xxx block.

Have you tried creating the route pattern twice 1 for inbound, 1 for outbound, and setting each to a different partition and not allow them to talk to each other? I am not sure if this is ideal, but I would be interested to see what it does.

As am I. Although I've never seen an inbound call routing to be honest. I'll look around though. I'll post results when I find it.
