Message: Device Status: GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 send failed

I have 5500G EI using several Gbic SX. When access switch via Web, throws the message to me “Device Status: GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 send failed” and this way for all the fiber ports. I have looked for reference but I do not understand that it means east message. Somebody can help me with this please

It could be a fiber continuity issue of some sort. You should call 3COM tech support and ask them for a definition and, if they have a document that lists all the alert messages/alarms that the unit might generate.

Is the SFP/GBIC showing a link or activity?

In past software releases, users were unable to change the ”Power Max” value for individual POE ports. This has been fixed.
If an SFP was inserted and there was no physical link to it, the web interface would incorrectly display the error message “SFP receive failed.” This has been fixed.
