Message Button say's voice mail not running

I have 9.0 ipo with Centralized Voice mail , when I have a message both light's are on the MWI and the message button when I press the message I get a Voice Mail not running display I have it turned on in Feature's do I need to do more than that to have it dial voice mail .
 
What happens if you dial *17? Busy tone? Then Voicemail is not running.
 
Yes when I dial *17 I get a busy , I added the voice mail ext. to *17 and this made no difference .
 
The system can't get to the voicemail, I suspect the VPN/Routers forming the link are blocking/redirecting ports :)

 
I can dial the voice mail and dial an ext. and get forwarded to voice mail leave a message and have the MWI light up also the Message button lights.
 
Yes it say not avliable , so can i add the voice mail # to SC *17 and then the message button work as it should also I already added the voice mail number to the SC and I'm sure that will work because it didnt.
 
Explain what systems you have a bit more:

- What type of voicemail?

- What happens when you dial *17 on the IP Office that is hosting the voicemail server? (assuming its Voicemail Pro)

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

@Rossi12 : I don't know what you are doing and I believe you don't either so pull the plug and restart again

You start saying you have Centralized Voicemail, do you know what that means? Please answer..
 
the centralized voice mail is CallXpress connected via 3rd Party sip trunks works just fine, I can leave a message and and the MWI will light on the phone we have a 9608 set in one location and a 9508 in another , I dial 2500 and get the voice mail when i dial *17 busy when i press the message button i get voice mail not running , we have a Avaya IPOffice 500 v2 rls 9.0 what im asking how to get *17 to dial 2500 the call express and have the message button when pressed retreive the message . Thanks for the help!
 
You should have it connected as SIP endpoints, then you can set the VM type to "Group voicemail" and add the VM extns into that group, then it would work, I don't believe you can achieve this with it registered as trunks :)

 
1. It would have helped everyone, including yourself, if you had said it was a third-party voicemail system right at the start (as I suspected). Instead you have caused total confusion.

2. It is not centralized voicemail. That refers to a particular arrangement of a IP Office Voicemail Pro voicemail server supporting multiple IP Office systems in a network.

3. Just edit the *17 short code. Change the feature to Dial and enter 2500 as the Telephone number.

4. In the configuration, on the System | Voicemail tab, turn off the 'Message Button Goes to Visual Voice' setting.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
 
P.S as alluded to earlier, you setup isn't "Centralized" voicemail, you have it configured wrong :)

Thanks guy's/gal's I was able to change the *17 to dial Extn 2500 before I only had Dial 2500 , also changed the Centralized Voicemail to group Voice Mail Destination Voicemail and now the Message Button will work as I wanted, a Big thanks again .
