Memo Field Problems

I am developing an ASP that reads and writes to a Visual FoxPro 7 table using the VFP OLE DB Provider. The table contains several fields with one of them being a memo field. I have no problem reading the table. The problem is when I insert into the table. If the memo field value is greater than 254 characters I get an error.

Any suggestions?
