Ok Thanks the problem we are having is we can't get the 4102 to register to teh 3300. I have a note out to our Network team to verify UDP port 5060 is open on the firewall.
Thanks for the docs, have you ever configured one of these we are not able to get it going. It acts like it is not hitting the 3300 when looking at the statitics page on the 4102 we are not seeing any data. Do you know if there is a command in the 3300 to tell if the device is actually getting there? Just another thought will the network port that the 4102 is connected to need to be tagged or untagged? As you can see I am grasping at straws we were suppose to have this working at a remote site last week and cant get it working in our lab to send documentation. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Not that familiar with the device but it will need to "see" the 3300 to connect with it. Therefore if it is not capable of tagging it's packets I think you would need it on a port that is untagged to the voice VLAN. Just my 2 cents.
The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.
Yes we can connect to the Mediatrix through IE. We have tried everything possible. Contacted Mitel tech support and they said based on the documents he has and what we are using that the 4102 should have no problem doing line-side SIP. He suggested a WireShark trace which we are trying to get as this is on a cutomers network and we have no access to the Switches.
We have a whole bunch of 4102's running on the voice network.
On the 3300 ICP I have them set up as Generic SIP devices.
The SIP configuration on the Mediatrix has the following fields as the controllers IP address:
Registrar Host, Proxy Host, Outbound Proxy Host.
Make sure the SIP User configuration field has been completed with the correct DN.
When on the network you can see the attempts to authenticate against the 3300 in its Software Logs, you can trouble shoot any issues from there.
One thing I did find is that if your using relatively new FAX machines with these SIP converters you will need to disable T.38 codec to push fax through G.711.
Class of restriction on the SIP device or depending on the type of outgoing trunks you use to connect to the PSTN there may be class of service options that need to be enabled to allow dialling out. The best way to test this is to assign a COS group that is known to work.
Thanks we didn't configure the outbound proxy information . Once we did it is working perfectly. We now have very detailed configuration information if anyone ones into problems installing let me know and I will gladly share.
