ok... I am back with another question. I am very new to the Mitel world and please bare with me. Just FYI I have been to I&M class for 5.0 but it was pretty basic and they didn't cover real life issue and the VM portion of the class was less to be desired.

Anyways... I have a PRI that will have a couple DID's that do not match ext's that I have on the system. What they want to happen is for those two DID's to be answered by two different AA in voice mail with options to press 1 for this person , 2 for this person and so on... I think i was told that I would have to assign those two DID's in my system speed dial and then point them to vm somehow... the vm portion really gets me confused.

I'm not sure how to make this happen and any direction would be great. I believe my system can only support 4 vm ports and I do not have the extra DSP to support more from what I understand.

Ignore the Speedcall

Create a hunt group that matches the DID

Route the Hunt group to VM via Re-routing

Create Menu Node Mailbox that matches DID.

This will associate the Mailbox with the specific DID without needlessly using up licensing.

Name the hunt group appropriately so that future techs know what it is for.

Example Name - .XXX-XXXX Menu Node AA

The period at the beginning of that name will prevent it from showing up in the telephone directory for the phones.

is there a re-routing form? where is the re-routing

Im trying to add that DID to the hunt group but it says its being used somewhere else.. very frustrating. I know I was playing with that ext but not sure where its being used in the system

What kwbMitel is saying is: create a hunt group with the DID. Then go to the call rerouting first alternative form and create a reroute to the hunt of the voicemail. Then go to the call rerouting assignment form, find the hunt group DID and assign the call retouting first alternative number you created that point the the VM hunt group. You then create a mailbox in the voicemail for the DID extension.

That said you say the DID reports its in use, then find out where and either delete it in favour of the hunt group or reroute whatever it is to the VM as I mention above.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

ok.. I think I need help with the re-routing stuff. This does not make sense.

I know all of my ext are using Call Rerout day, night 1, night 2 1&2 alterna 1

which send the calls to vm if they don't answer or busy.

Just confused how to get the did that is not a physical set to go straight to vm

sorry if i sound stupid

Set up a call rerouting always alternative to reroute on all conditions to the VM Hunt group.

DO NOT USE THE FIRST ONE - this is default and should be left blank

Then set the hunt group DN that matches the DID to route in DAY/N1/and N2 to the number you set up.
