McAfee Problem

I have serveral machines that are having a problem with McAfee 7.0. Everything was working fine until we upgraded to Quickbooks Premire 2004. It caused machines to slow down. When you open the task manager, McShield is bouncing between 48% and 99%. If you stop the service the machine goes back to normal speed. They are all Win XP Pro with all patches and updates. What could cause this problem

Check the startup for any quickbooks related programs.

Start>Run>Msconfig. On the startup tab, uncheck anything quickbooks related, reboot and try again. This may affect some background functions quickbooks does, but test the program itself to make sure it functions ok.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
 
Quick books is constantly going to the internet to check for updates. Look in your MSCONFIG and turn off Quickbooks updater and do it manually
