Mc Afee Reg

Hi Guys,

I loaded a PC for a friend last night. Win XP pro. The problem is i typed his Mc Afee registration in wrong.
Mc Afee wont let me use a different registration now because
it was entered once on this PC ?

I dont understand you cant make a typo ?


is there a way to un install mc afee and all reference to it
so i can put in the correct registration info ?

I see no problem in uninstallation, because when you re-register if you type in the valid information it should take the new registration, if there is a problem in this you might have to hunt in the registry all occurences of McAfee and delete those keys. You may want to search on McAfee's website under their FAQ's, I am sure someone has done this before.

If you think you can, you might...if you know you can then you will.

Ya, I tried the un install and checked the registery. The registery is clear. I installed it again and it picked up the typo info. I am guessing there is a DLL file or something like that hidden.

I will go check the Mc Afee site like you suggested

You may want to try ccleaner while the app is uninstalled.

This will clean up all broken keys in your registry.
