What is the maximum number of records you can use in Access 2000 on a large XP system? Is it just limited by hard disk or is there a limit?

TIA,

John

The general answer is 2GB for a .mdb file size. To see database specification like this, open any module and go to Help. Go to the Index tab and type in specification. This will bring up a list of database specs that makes interesting reading.

Thanks Paul, will look up specs. 2MB is probably an unsplit application?

John

I don't this so, if I understand what you are saying. This is exactly what it says in the help file.

"2 gigabytes. However, because your database can include linked tables in other files, its total size is limited only by available storage capacity."

I think the 2GB is for an unsplit, unlinked .mdb file.

Paul

I will be using split only so I guess storage capacity is the only limitation.
