I'm installing a 400 w/exp that I'm sure was engineered wrong.
Its configured for 3 PRI and 3 dsm32's. I'm I right that I can only put 2 PRI's in this config?

Yes, only 2 PRI's on a 400. They should have been sold a 450.

Kevin

Thanks, makes sense when you only have two clock sources.

Yes you can, I have a 400 with 3.Can't remember the clock settings.

Have also installed BCM400 with 3 x PRI.
Cant remember what the clock sources were either.

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

all the clock source is asking which span should the system clock from. 1 span is Primary and the other is Secondary. If you add a third it still clocks from the Primary or Secondary source.

Hawks is correct, 1 Primary, the other 2 Secondary.

Adversity is Opportunity

You should not get the option to set anything with the 3rd because remember the Clock is system wide. Everything will clock from the Primary until there is a problem then it goes to the Secondary. Hope this makes since.

whats happens to the 3rd PRI if its installed on a BCM 400. Is it backup only?
