I am experiencing a very annoying issue in Manager 8.X where when I try to open a saved configuration file the network drives refuse to show up, I am left only with local drives. I thought it was a software corruption issue with my old Windows 7 PC but it is also happening on a brand new Windows 8 installation. Is this by design? Is there a work around this issue? What I did notice is that is tarted to happen ever since I upgraded to 8.X, I am on 8.1 right now.

Not sure? Permissions issue maybe? Not running the app as administrator? My network drives show up just fine running Win 7 64bit.

With the 8.1 manager i am not able to open config files when i open them from a network drive either.
I just copy it to my desktop and open it from there.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Not on mine, I used to run Windows 7 64-bit and I could not see the mapped drives, now I am running Windows 8 64-bit and Manager behaves the same as when I was on Windows 7. Every time I click on the open configuration folder I only see Local Disks...I always have to clear everything and actually type \\server\customers then I can see the files I am looking for. Very annoying...!
I have full access to the networks drives, I am the administrator, I can see them very well in explorer.

I just tried and i do not see network drives either.
I run 8.1.67 and W8 pro.

I am on W8 Pro 64, 8.1.65 the same happened when I was on 8.0 and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, I believe I was good while on 7.X...maybe it is by design.

8.1.67 works fine for me! Perhaps, a conspiracy to rob you of precious moments of your life is afoot.

I have win 7 64bit here in the office and at home and both can open networked drive cfg files.
I don't recall having an issue using any particular release of manager and win 7

My problem is not that I cannot open configuration files from a network drive, I can open them fine, my problem is that Manager does not display the network drives, I cannot browse to P: y can only browse to \\server\customers.

My stuff browses networked drives and folders with no issues.
Perhaps the issue is with the share itself.

You can browse the shares in other programs, like the office suites, or whatever, just fine, yes?

Unfortunately all other applications work OK...it can't be that easy and to make things more interesting like I said on my initial post it was also happening on my previous Windows 7 Pro 64. There is another guy here at the office running Windows 7 Pro 64 and his actually works fine and that is driving me crazy.

Check the firewall settings for manager, run the Avaya firewall script and try again.

Tried that but no luck.
It just does not appear in the explorer view.
I must say that these network drives are added manually by me.

I have ( had! ) the same issue, google came up with a answer straight away and after applying the suggestion it works

[li] Type EnableLinkedConnections, and then press Enter.[/li]
[li] Right-click EnableLinkedConnections, and then click Modify.[/li]
