We have many 470/ 460 stacks and about 12 stand alone 470's in our data center. We have had this as recent as 2 this past week and Nortel confirmed it is an OS bug. If you monitor your switches via SNMP or ICMP ever year of uptime when the calendar turns over the management IP goes to sleep for 5-12 mins. (2 of them happened this week in our network) It is a known bug. You may not see this if you reload switches, etc. within a year's time but it will get you excited if you have a NOC and extensive monitoring like we do to see your switch stack or stacks report down. Packet forwarding functions of the switch are not affected but it will quit responding from the MGMT IP address.
