I have been tasked with making a change to allow a call to 5705508866 in Pennsylvania from my Headquarters in Mass. 978 area code. I made an entry in ARS ana table for 5705508866 with min13 and max13 p5 fnpa n. I get waived off after i dial the 550 part? I do a trace and get feedback no ars route pref. What I have defined on p5 is 2 2 570 1. Can someone guide me to correct this and what do the first two numbers in p5 apply to... the group no. and FRL entries? Thanks in advance.

yes they will the system will only apply the logic if it identifies minimum 11 digits with the number dialled ,if you dial less than 10 it will not follow.

The 11's do matter, it means is will not even look at that entry becuase you do not meet the minimum number of digits.

If you put the entry below in, it should solve it the issue for dialling with 1
1570 11 11 p5 fnpa n

my entry 1570 11 11 p5 fnpa n does exist.
So, this seems right, but yet still getting waived off.

Is this a wind up or what ??? change your entry for a minimum of 10 digits and see what happens , i belive welco and somebody else pointed this out near the top of the thread.

Can you display the ars ana entry for a long distance area code you know you can call?

disp ars ana X where X is the first digit of that area code.

Also, disp ars ana 1X where X is the first digit of that area code.

I gave up Monty...only been doing this crap for 40+ yrs...Never seen such a goat rope in my life..should be pretty simple.
I would try it without a partitioned group..setup a plain route pattern..chage ars ana...570 min 10 max 10 tg x prefix dig 1, fnpa and route it to that and make the call... If it doesn't work call the carrier and find out what's up...Simple as that.

...bob...

I agree, should be as simple as duplicating an ars ana entry that is working too such as what was listed:

1501 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1502 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1503 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1504 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1505 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1507 11 11 p5 fnpa n

If calls to these area codes work, just make the same entry for 570:

1570 11 11 p5 fnpa n

I completely agree, this should have been a quick entry with the parameters you make statement to bob. THis has become a cluster cuss.....but, still stands that call does not work and route out.

The one thing we haven't asked is if you have a specific ars ana location entry for this site and area code?

Do you know what location this is in your system? Execute the command: list locations

Then once you know the number of the location execute the command: list ars ana location X (where X is the location number)

If you have entries in the specific ars ana location table, it will take precidence over the main ars ana table.

Otherwise, I'm at a loss. You say you entered: 1570 11 11 p5 fnpa n in your ars ana table, so if you dial 9-1-570-xxx-xxxx it should work if all these other area codes work:

1501 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1502 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1503 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1504 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1505 11 11 p5 fnpa n
1507 11 11 p5 fnpa n

On the station that you are using to make test calls, what is the Time of Day Chart set to in that stations COR?

Guys, help! i am new to this system. it so happended our company did not renew our maintenance contract. Now i am assigned and we have some changes on the area codes which is why we cannot make any external call. I got advised to change our dial plan or route pattern. I am in Saudi Arabia...anyone please? Maybe instructions manual could help, is there any download link?

Our equipment is AT&T Definity SD-66984-01 J58890H

did you call your long distance carrier. sometimes they have routing problems. On some of the call you are hitting there trunks. When this happens to me it is usually the long distance carrier.

mutantx, did you give up or get it resolved?

Hello Stinney, I was ambitious this morning. I removed all references to the 570 in ars tables. 15, 157, 1570, 1570550. recreated 1570 11 11 p5 fnpa n
dialed 1570550 and was instantly waived off. list ars route-chosen 15705508866 and it shows use of 1570550 11 11 p3 fnpa n.....WHAT!!?
So, with all that being said, I have thrown in the towel. The user trying to make call used her cell phone. I have a full plate and enough time wasted on this already. I was hoping there was as aspect that I was overlooking, that more knowledgeable people here would see evident. I also checked COR and that is set correctly for the station that the user is at. I give up. thank you for checking back and inquiring how doing.

LIST TRACE

time data

15:06:45 tone-receiver 01B0105 cid 0x106
15:06:45 active station 8360 cid 0x106
15:06:49 dial 91570550 route:ARS
15:06:49 denial event 1751: No AAR/ARS route pat/pref D1=0xca D2=0xc1c0019
15:06:49 dial 91570550 route:ARS
15:06:49 denial station 8360 cid 0x106
15:06:53 idle station 8360 cid 0x106
SO, this is telling me there is no ARS route chosen, right?
3rd line down does not find and 4th line down is denial error.

I changed the route pattern in ars table to p3, per the statement of call using route pattern p3 vs. p5 from the list ars route-chosen command.

Still getting waived off after dialing 1570550. This does not make sense to anyone. It should be working fine with entries I have....right?

Unfortunately we can't post our contact information or PM here (have to keep the headhunters and salespeople at bay). However I was told by the moderators that I could include information in my signature that would help you find me. I'd love to be able to help you understand how this works and is configured in your system.
