I have been tasked with making a change to allow a call to 5705508866 in Pennsylvania from my Headquarters in Mass. 978 area code. I made an entry in ARS ana table for 5705508866 with min13 and max13 p5 fnpa n. I get waived off after i dial the 550 part? I do a trace and get feedback no ars route pref. What I have defined on p5 is 2 2 570 1. Can someone guide me to correct this and what do the first two numbers in p5 apply to... the group no. and FRL entries? Thanks in advance.

Why is your min digits 13 when your dialing 10? All you really need in ARS ANA for this number is min 10 max 13 and fnpa..call should go through...

...bob...

The min10 max13 is not an issue. Yes, entries there and fnpa, I was expecting the call to go thru, UNFORTUNATELY is NOT. I am not to positive in the route-pattern entry, I think that is where my fault lies. Can you provided feedback on those entries i made?

Is Area code 570 a long distance call for you? Are you using partion tables to figure out what route paterns to use?

570 is Pennsylvania, I am in 978 Massachusetts. We are not using partition tables and I am trying to determine the routing patterns. Top Forum entry is detail of what I have done thus far and the outcome. Getting waived off after keying in 550, when I dail 91570550 and getting waived off after keying in the whole number 95705508866. I am under the impression that routing table will prepend the 1 for long distance, and I understand it getting waived off without acknowledgement of "no ARS route" when I do a trace when I dial out to the number.

Put a trace up on your station (list trace station xxxx) and dial the 570 number. Then post the results of the trace here.

Do 'list ars route-chosen 5705508866'. That will tell you the Partition/Route Pattern used. In your first post you said you were using p5. In the last post you show p3. You may want to find the Route Pattern used for a good number, such as '215' and try duplicating that entry.

Kevin

There's no matching pattern if you are only dialing 10 digits, like Wellco said.
Do 'list ars route-chosen 5705508866 location xx' where xx is your location code to see if there is anything defined for this digit string.

route pattern is p3, not 5 like I mentioned earlier. I had it using 5 prior. Sorry. This whole thread stems from the fact that I took a route pattern from a good working number and replicated and modified the area code from 978 to 570, and still did not work to dial out. I was looking to understand the entries there and how they manipulate the calls.
Here is what I have for my entries .......right now. Samr results, dialing the number, with 1, I get waived off right after 550. Dialing the number, without 1, I get waived off after dialing the complete number.

Changed the "p3" to a '3". Now, I can dial the full number, there is a long pause, someone picks up and then disconnects the call. I do not get a ringing and abruptly cuts the call off. ANyone have positive insight as to what is happening now??

Mutant...I have never seen such a bunch of entries in an ara ana table in my life...this is not rocket science, and all you need to do is this...Pick any area code that is LD that you can dial...419 (Ohio) make a test call if it goes through disp ars ana for 419 make your 570 the same as 410...same amount of digits, route patt etc; try your call if it doesn't work..there is something else going on ...Who's your carrier? Are you adding/deleting digits?...There has to be a reason you have it set for "min 13" when your only dialing 10 digits....

...bob...

NO crap this should not be that difficult!
here is what i modified the ars table to, upon your above recommendation.

now here is the trace I ran when trying to call from my 8360 station.

Call is still failing right after i dial 9570550, I get waived off.
I believe there should be an entry in the route pattern table, without an entry there, system wont know to direct call out thru to 570 area code....correct?

You said you're not using partition routing, but your ARS tables are nothing but partition route patterns. That's what the "p" is in front of the route pattern number. P13, P30, P4, P11, etc.

Also, why would you not allow calls to the entire area code and need an entry that only allows calls to 1 number in the entire area code?

Would think you want an entry like: 157 11 11 p4 fnpa n (I chose p4 because it looks like you used it for area code 520 which would be long distance from Mass)

I'm in Mass and our entries are 1XX 11 11 px fnpa n

This entry allows calls to ANY area code that starts with 57x. Then you don't have to worry about always having to keep on top of adding new area codes to your ars ana table, only adding denials as needed.

I love learning and passing on knowledge. "Because knowing is half the battle".... GI JOOOOOE!

Stinney -
my thoughts EXACTLY. If i put the 570 entery with min11 max11 p3 fnpa n , I should be able to make ANY call within the 570 area code without problems! THIS IS NOT MAKING ANY LOGICAL SENSE TO ME. VERY Frustrated as I think what u are stating should be correct also.

Calls are not working that way. I now have the above entry in ars ana table. THinking should call out no problem. I dial 95705508866 and get waived off right after entering 957055088. 10:26:11 tone-receiver 01B0102 cid 0x32
10:26:11 active station 8360 cid 0x32
10:26:19 dial 957055088 route:ARS
10:26:19 denial event 1751: No AAR/ARS route pat/pref D1=0xca D2=0xc1c0019
10:26:19 dial 957055088 route:ARS
10:26:19 denial station 8360 cid 0x32
10:26:23 idle station 8360 cid 0x32

Then I try dialing with the 1, and get waived off after 91570550 entered. 10:26:50 tone-receiver 01A0106 cid 0x39
10:26:50 active station 8360 cid 0x39
10:27:03 dial 91570550 route:ARS
10:27:03 denial event 1751: No AAR/ARS route pat/pref D1=0xca D2=0xc1c0019
10:27:03 dial 91570550 route:ARS
10:27:03 denial station 8360 cid 0x39
10:27:06 idle station 8360 cid 0x39
