Hi, I have a site with S8300 configured as a Main Server at site A and another remote S8300 configured as LSP at site B; sometimes the LSP restarts on its own and I've been trying to find out why. The agents are registered to the main server at site A and should fail over to the LSP once the link to Site A fails, but Main Server restarts on its own. This doesnt happen all the time, may be once in a month or two.
Any idea what might be causing this problems?

main and lsp restarts? or main restart for no reason causing lsp to restart? what CM version on both? run 'disp init' do you see the restart cause? any alarm or error?

Only the Main restarts, CM version is 3.1. See alarm below:

I hope you can make something out of it, it's kind of scatered.

Hi, has anyone been able to make something out of the info above? My understanding of why the Main server at site A restarts is when it fails to register with the LSP, then it resets itself. But the link is always up and dont know why it does that.
Any ideas please??

Hi Guys
What alarms appear on maint web interface?
Also what mg recovery rule have you set?
Regards Steve

Hi Bidon, some suggestions on finding the problem. 1. I see a SERVER PLAT-ALM, that indicates there is a alarm on the Linux. See if you can run a "go shell" from the SAT prompt, then "almdisplay -v" at the linux prompt to see what it is complaining about. 2. Run a "display init-cause" at the SAT prompt to see what type of reset happened. If your looking for the definitions: .If this does not make much sense, see if Avaya can find the problem or a BP if you don't have a contract with Avaya or post here, we may be able to help. Good luck.
