I have a Def v6 (site 1) with Audix (site 2) at another location. If someone dials the main number of site 1 which is also a station, 8367, on that switch they get a ring no answer. The auto attendant is an extension of 8110 at site 1. How do I check to see why the main number is not being answered by the auto attendant to play the greeting which enables the calls to be routed?

Any help would be great.

thanks
Joe

First of all, if u are only using the autoattdt to route calls to extension in the pbx and u have vectors, then don't use the auto attd at all, use the vectors.
If u don't have vectors, and u want all calls to the main number to go to a auto attdt before any person answers the call, then have a the same extension in the pbx as the auto attd in the voice mail. U can have them different if u need more flexibility, but of course it is more complicated.

P.S. A message to all,if you want to get the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244 first. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx system & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Thanks for your help. That site does not have vectors configured. Can you elaborate on the auto-attd and vmail. Currently the main number and ext are the same last 4 digits, but the auto-attd is different ext. What should I check?

Thanks
Joe

Check the coverage path for extension 8367 and for extension 8110. See if 8367 covers to a phantom extension 8110 which then covers directly to voicemail.

Statements expressed in this post are my own opinions and should not be considered as the opinion of my employer.

Do 'change auto routing' in the audix and put '8367' as the 'called number', and 8110 for the 'business' and 'night' number and use business schedule 1.
I assume u have working DCS set up between the switches and they are both AVaya with audix.
