is the chassis earthed? I've had to do 2 systems for first time ever in eternity of IPO. 8.0.44 with ATM combo cards on both, funnily, calls to Vodafone mobile network were horrendous on one of the systems, sounded really awful.
Electrician actually fixed an earth properly to the data cabinet, linking wall bracket part to swinging cabinet part where IPO mounted, and problems disappeared.
levels all became nice again too across all trunks.
handsets were mix of 1403, 1408, 1416 and analogue handsets.
Then similar thing happened week after, immediately used earth wire to the chassis mount position on back of control unit, and no problems hey presto.
I recently experienced a similar problem. Go to: IP Office Line and Analog Options: Perform the Autmatic Balance and Impedance Match Test.
Automatic Balance Impedance Match: IP500/IP500 V2. Release 4.2+.
These controls can be used to test the impedance of a line and to then display the best match resulting from the test. Testing should be performed with the line connected but the system otherwise idle. To start testing click Start. The system will then send a series of signals to the line and monitor the response, repeating this at each possible impedance setting. Testing can be stopped at any time by clicking Stop. When testing is complete, Manager will display the best match and ask whether that match should be used for the line. If Yes is selected, Manager will also ask whether the match should be applied to all other analog lines provided by the same analog trunk card or module.
· Before testing, ensure that the system Locale setting (System | System) is correctly set. Also check that the system Companding Law settings (System | Telephony | Telephony) are set correctly. If either needs to be changed, make the required change and save the setting to the system before proceeding with impedance matching.
that's a new trick! one of those features not well publicized... or used these days with SIP steam rolling everything else. *
I learnt how useless that unsupervised disconnect setting is too! no blind transfers can happen anywhere on the system, even station to station. I made the mistake of not changing the default "Single Frequency" busy tone to be "System Frequency" busy tone, which works off the locale settings.
clears ATM down very well when set correct.
hey guys, I don't have problem anymore with local to local. hazy echoe occurs in outgoing calls. the IPO did'nt connected to the ground. i also tried the automatic impedance match, but nothing's happened.
So these are analog phones that are having the issue or system phones dialing out on analog trunks? If system phones, what style phone does the client have?
