Hi folks,

I have a customer who this morning took her system out of night service, upon which all the screens on their phones went blank. Then a call came in and all the screens came back to life. The problem is that when the users press redial, all the phones (5410s) have lost their recent call history. Also, some users have the directory button programmed and when they try this, no numbers show up and it's asking them to select a directory type. Basically what I need to know is:

1) What's gone wrong?
2) What caused it?
3) How to fix it!

Thanks guys, I know you won't let me down ;)

sounds like an unwanted reboot.

run monitor and see if there is anything in the error list after it connects, or log in to SSA and see what it says in there.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

They're running an IP 500 version 4.2 (17)

I thought it might be a lost config at first but when the phones came back on all of the extensions were configured correctly. I've got Monitor running now but don't really understand any of the information it's showing me. How do I identify errors? Also, might it be worth sending the config back to the unit to see if this helps?

You can do that but i think it will not help.
I would upgrade the ipo to 5.0.22
It has bug fixes for 4.x and 5.x in it.

The call history is stored on the phone and when the phones reboot they loose the call log so that is normal behavior when the ipo had a reboot.
