I am having a problem with a loop that will not come up. It is on anolder 81C. I have tride replacing the QPC464 buffer card and also the QPC414 Network card. When doing a status in LD32 I get a CTYF:98 . The starnge thing is that loop 99 shares the QPC414 and I was aslo getting the CTYF:99 but was stil getting dial tone. After repacing the QPC414 I don;t get the CTYF anymore but still have no dial tone on Loop 98. Both the lights are lit on the QPC464.I also tried removing all the line cards and bringing the loop up. The loop does enable and disable when I issue the commands but still no dial tone on Loop 98 . Any suggestions?

Try looking at your Controller during a quiet period

LD 32
.DSXP XX (Number in Display for that shelf)
.ENXP XX

It could also be PerSig/s

.DSPS (Number 1 etc)
.ENPS

Cheers!!

This is an older PBX and this loop doesn't use a controller card. It is a dual density shelf. I did a status on all the Per Sigs and they are all enabled.

Do you have a voice circuit loop back jack you can use to test? Also is this going to local telco or in house systems etc. Is it a PRI or a T-1?

This is a (10 Slot)terminal loop that only has analog line cards on it.Was installed in 1986.

If I had paid attention when I was reading the first time I would have seen that!! Sorry, guess subconciously I could not believe that is type still being used out there!

Could be a DTR issue, can you use an analog phone in dial pulse mode and make a call?

He can't get the loop up, red light is on, why would that be DTR? Do you have any cabinet alarms on? Check your 30V power card, maybe check the cabling to the 414 card as well

Check cabling from BackPlane to ENET Card and maybe an issue with the ENET Slot positions on this vintage of switch?

Cheers!!

The loop does enable but I get no dial tone and the 2 red lights are on on the QPC464 buffer card. I replaced the QPC414 network card as well. I am still getting a CTYF when I stat the loop in LD 32. The funny thing is that I also get CTYF on the other loop that shares the network card but that loop is working. I did notice a few ERR3036 and ERR3037 errors as well on these loops. I'm begining to think the QPC414 I replaced may be faulty as well.

Yes I tried reseating and the replacing the buffer card.

at this point I would replace the cable. It seems that you may be reading from the same book as I am and all that is left is the cable??

Yes this system does have old power shelves. The system was installed in 1987. Its kind of a hybrid we have a newer processor ( about 10 years old ) with 1 IPE tower but the rest of the PE equipment is the old 10 slot shelves. I did check again and there is a FS light on on the monitor card. I thought this was an indicator of a blown fuese but none of the fuses look blown.
