IP Office 412 (2.0 1602)
2 xDT30 4xDT16 & 2x POTS16 (4.0 16)
I have noticed recently that I am getting more and more handsets locking up.
They are eiher not responding at all or I get intermittant static.

Is this a firmware upgrade thing or more terminal?

How is 2.1??

Also we are about to move offices and I have been asked whether we should consider changing system.
We are currently 85 people but could be 120 by end of year. Do I stick with IP Office, but change to different handsets & modules??

Chris

I wouldt go to the latest 2.1 version (thats free of charge)and 120 stations is not a problem for the IPO.

The 412 you can also upgrade to the latest version (3.1) of IPO and the POTS also. (also free of charge)
But not the DT modules.
I will try to change the Module,s for DS and the phone,s for the new 54-serie, at your dealer and i think if you talk the right way you can get a reel good deal and have a phone system thats up to date.
Also get a demo what IP-Office can do for you now and what is diffrent on the new phone,s and new features
like IP-Dect,Conference center, Softconsule etc, etc,

But thats what i think and i never liked the index phones but i now the index guys love those phone,s :)

hmmm interesting, does talking the right way involve making threats?

Thanks for the PDF I'll read it on the way home tonight.

hehehe I know what you mean re: Index phones, I'm still using a DT3 handset - our last working one! I get all nostalgic about it. All the rest are 2030's which are good solid handsets.

Chris

If we can make some money to upgrade your DT phones or let you leave to a other brand (always say Cisco they hate that), what do you think we like to do:)

As Big70 says : he doesn't know what its like to use a real userfriendly phone.
If you hate your customer then replace the DT phones with DS phones.
Upgrade the system to the latest 2.1 build.

Upgrade to 2.1??
It seems to me that upgrading tends to be a lottery.

Or is it now considered stable?

2.1 is good, if programming is ok.
What you have sounds like a handset problem.

best option is to upgrade to 2.1 (62)

erase config and reprogram. Should fix most problems!

a little bit of work but then you can determine if you hardware faults or not.

remember to keep a backup just in case

Is there any way to check the programming?

If this is a handset problem then I'm in trouble, as I could be aout to lose half of my handsets. I get about 2-3 a day that lock up and require reseting.

Hmmm

Hi Hi He Cor,

I know you guys like the DT phones.
But i like to look forward and to stay on 2.1 is not foward.

Ps everything ok in Dordrecht

Greets Peter

Personaly the only feature of the DT/20XX handsets that cannot be fully replaced on the DS handsets is Visual Voice Hopefully Avaya will sort this soon

For those of you that dont know the DT handset when you have VM in multiple mailbox's (Personal & Hunt Group) set to light your lamp when you press the Voice key you get options of Listen (Personal Mailbox), <Group1>, <Group2> etc. and an indication of how many msgs are in each.

It makes managing group mailboxes without Phone manager so much simpler & no calls of My lamp is on but I cant get my Msg (or at least not as many).

Unfortunatly comercial constraints mean the end of the DT series handsets &^ we all have to move on cest la vie.
