I have been trying to find the instructions for loading a WAV file and activating the MOH feature on R7.0 but I can;t seem to find the HELP file on this. Do you know where I can find a step by step on this? I thought it would be easy just load the file and turn it on.

It is really simple, and it is documented.

Create a wav file called holdmusic.wav; make sure it is a 8khz, 16bit, mono, pcm wav file.
Put it in the PRIMARY folder of the SD card (I assume you're using a 500v2?, you didn't say).
Under system, telephony, tones and music, set it to WAV file.

It's also on page 810 of this manager document;

Pardon or not knowing where the PRIARY folder is but I went to MEMORY CARDS/COMMON/SYSTEM/PRIMARY and then pasted the WAV file there. I changed the Music and Tones to WAV and saved the file. When I entered *34 all I get is beeping. I must not have done something right.

That *is* the primary folder...
Did you reboot? Changes to the system source requires a reboot. After it reboots, it will load the holdmusic.wav file.
You can use SSA to see the if the file loaded. Should be on the resources page.

You copied to the Manager directory on your PC, you should open FileManagement in manager and upload the file to the SD card /SYSTEM/PRIMARY folder

Yeah I missed that he wrote that. Embedded file management is something that is taught to everyone that goes through the courses...wonder how this got missed?

You missed it because it is obvious to use filemanager to upload the file if you have done that often, this is how our brain works with routine tasks.

I did as you said using the Embedded File Manager. The file is there but when I enter *34 I now just get dead air no more beeps. I am sure I must have missed something. I did convert the MP3 file to a WAV file as instructed.

8000hz, 16bit, mono. This was the setting on the WAV converter program

I had the same problem where putting the file directly on the SD didn't work. struggled with it for a while then just downloaded this software, ran it in the trial and it worked fairly quickly without too much setting up.

I would also like to know what I am missing with regards the embedded file management but in the interest of saving time just try it out. Hope it helps.

Just so strange that loading music on this system is not easier. Just select a file to play from a folder on the PC and DL it to the IP office.

Thanks I will give this a try.

what name are you giving the file ?????

APSS (SME)
ACSS (SME)
ACIS (UC)

Way to just spell it out for him, Bas.
