I have a Bay Accelar 1250 Routing switch in production, and I am trying to add a Cisco 4006 to it in order to have connectivity to the network so I can eventually replace the Accelar and push it out to another location. The 1000LX module on the 4006 will not sync up with the Accelar 1202LX-A 2pt blade. I have light on the accelar, but none on the cisco 4006. I have checked the fiber cable and it is within specs. Any ideas?

LX module on 1250 is for long reach. You might need a conditioning mode fiber patch cable. You need on on both ends. You might be sending to hot a signel for a short distance. See the nortel support site.

Make sure tagging and autonegotiate is turned off. My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.

Thanks guys,

I replace the cable with an appropiate one and turned off tagging and autonegotiate and the boxes are talking to each other perfectly and network traffic is balancing out nicely!

Jcroe,

The tagging should not be part of the issue here and if required you should not see any problems between the two devices.
