Hi all,

I would like to install strobe lights on an IP Office via a 16 port analog station module. The strobe locations do not have power outlets near by, so I would like to find line powered strobes that will flash with the ring current from the analog station module.

I did find a post related to Wheelock strobes that need a bipolar capacitor. I will go that route if necessary.

My question is; Does anyone have any suggestions of a plug-n-play solution?

Thanks.

Is this for the Avaya staff disco? lol

Andy, I think for deaf people.
There are types you can connect to an analog phone. Although it is years ago I connected one.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I didn't think it was for a disco Peter, but even the one the OP posted wouldn't work as it's designed for PSTN line voltage not PABX extn voltage which is considerably lower. I am fairly certain power would be required for most based on that :)

I have found most things like this do not work on IP Office, they work on old Alcatels and Index's etc but the lower voltages of the IP Office seems to cause issues, even some DECT phones will not ring due to this :)

I hooked a Wheellock up to a Partner port once, and it would only flash every 3rd ring.

Great info, I did see that Krown unit online, but no specs on voltage to make it flash.
Thanks for the replies
