I have two physical [analog] phone lines running into a CTM4, ports 3 & 4

These are assigned Lines 26 & 27, and to Pool A which is accessed from Destination Code 9.

Is there a way to assign which Line is selected first when pressing 9??

Currently, when pressing 9 with no other lines in use, the PBX will select Line27 [Port4 CTM] each time. Line 26 is only selected when a 2nd caller begins dialing.

Without physically swapping the lines on the CMT4, is this possible to Prioritize Line 26 over 27 in BEM for this Pool?

Thanks

Carriers delivers lines in a hunt group.
When a line or lines are busy:
1 rolls 2 when 1 is busy
2 rolls to 3 when lines 1 and 2 are busy
and so on

On the phone system it is exactly the same in reverse when calling out, by design...you cannot pick and choose but you can terminate the lines in reverse but looks stupid when line 4 rolls to 3 on an inbound call.

Why are you requesting to change this?

Thanks again for the reply, Curlycord

This makes sense.

At the moment, we have two analog lines, one of which is working, and one which is awaiting provisioning. Originally we wired the working line into port 3 on the CTM4, and the awaiting provisioning line into port 4.

If the default is for the system to work from the highest number to the lowest, then I will need to re-patch the lines until the 2nd one comes online soon. This will allow most users to route calls over the working line until the 2nd one is provisioned, limiting them to only one line on this service at the moment.

Thanks.

Just remove the line from the pool until it is working. No need to touch the cross connect. Once the line is repaired, return it to the pool.

Thanks for your replies

As suggested, just removed the line from the pool in BEM and added it back once the 2nd line was provisioned.

Thanks.
