Hi
I have a IP Office 500 running 6.0 am having a problem with line appearances.
I have 8 digital phone and 4 lines on the system the problem is we have line appearances on all the phone but he have all the phone to no ring except the operator. however, all the phones are still ringing. is there any setting i can change to stop the phone form ringing.

Use Call appearances instead of line appearances.

The problem is My boss want the lines on his phone he want to be able to select a line and dial out not dial 9

He just wants to dial out with no 9?

Your Boss wants a system from the 80's, modern systems can emulate some of the ways older systems used to work but line appearences on many sets are the downfall, he needs to get used to the modern PABX way of pooled lines really :)

I agree with you but he think it as crazy for him to dial a pool to access 4 lines.

Does your boss just want to dial out with having to use a 9?

@-djuplift

he want to select a line to dial out, he want to be able to see if the line is in use.

It has the line appearance option. However, when you set the lines to No ring it still continue to ring or if you set it to delay ring it still ring.

Give him 4 buttons with a dial shortcode but with a different line id.
Job done.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

He's wrong, let him try it for a bit, if he doesn't like it then he can go back to ringing or buy a panasonic :)

yes ..However am up the creek without a paddle because I recommended the IP Office.

@-tlpeter: The short code is a good Idea However, It will not indicate when a line is in use or if a line was place on hold.

In a nut shell what you are saying is Line Appearance " delay ring or No Ring" don't work on the IP Office they are there for pretty.

I believe you should be able to turn line appearances to NO ring on all the phones. Then have a ICR for the lines go to a HG with just the member you want to ring...

I have the lines set to No ring However they are still ringing.

Thanks Guys I found the problem....all the extension was in HG 200 once i remove them out of that it work....

@-NYSTECH-Thanks when you mention HG thats what cause me to go looking there.

Once you get over 10 extns with the same line appearence then you may find issues creeping in, thought perhaps you got them early, glad it's working ;-)

are you in the USA or the real world?

if not in the USA then the default short code

SC: ?
TN.
Feature Dial

will enable the boss to just dial the number he wants - no 9
no pressing a button.
the IPO will select a free line, so no need to check to see which one is free first.

what can be simpler than "pick up the phone & just dial".
let the IPO do the job you are paying it for :)
