I have a MICS in my home (leftover from when our office upgraded to BCM). Anyways I was away for the weekend but heard there were bad storms in the area on Saturday. When I arrived home I noticed all my sets were dead (no display etc). I tried rebooting the system with no luck although the KSU itself looks normal (lights are on etc). There is a UPS/Surge protector in place. I don't have any pots lines going to the system. It runs off 3 vonage lines. Is the whole unit dead? What do I need to replace?

Thanks

If the sets do not start flashing soon as you boot it then you may have an issue with the KSU.
Lightning may have gone via the C.O. lines which is the worst and most likley.

They are repairable but you will need to take it in or ship it for repair.

Might be better off to buy another off a vendor or ebay.

Depending on how many phones you have you may want to try other ports off the KSU too.

Not good. Working MICS w/software on Ebay are going for around $400. Wonder if I can just replace a certain part of go for a less expensive norstar

Norstar 3X8 or 6X16 is your next choices if money is an issue.
Make sure to get DR5 for Call ID and DS if you have your own Voice mail.

What you will want to keep if you do get another CICS is the Power Supply inside, the software and the Line card and/or expansion card (if you live in a mansion).....also keep the Power Supply fuse located on the outside bottom, all for spare parts if needed in future.
You could also take it to some electrical repair shop, anyone good with mobo's and resistors might be able to fix.

What are these Vonage lines? I keep hearing nothing but problems with them.
