It's been years since I touched a KX but I've been a phone tech for 25+ years and I know my way around just about every major manufacturer out there (NEC, Avaya, Toshiba, Nortel...) and I've been tasked with programming some temporary call forwarding while my client waits for some numbers to be ported and they need a handful of DIDs programmed to call forward immediately off premise.

I have not had access to the system yet, just know its a KX-TDA100 w/ a full PRI span.

1) Before I go too far down this rabbit hole, is this even possible with this system to go DID to external number? Do we need s/w version to answer this?
2) If not, are there known work arounds such as station call forward off prem, i.e. DID -> STA -> CFD Outside

I have the IT outfit setting me up with a PC and a USB connection. Is this even necessary? Looking at the manual it appears this system should be accessible via IP but more importantly, if the DIDs are already assigned to phones, can this be done at the phone manually via functions or soft-keys?

I have the s/w and all manuals, just trying to fast track this before making the 2hr+ drive to find out I'm missing something I need or I can't even do it all. Thanks for any help, cheers!

TDA is usually a USB connection to program unless it has a LAN card installed.
To do the forwards you will have to create a group and do a group forward for each DDI
So say I wanted to forward number 123456 to number 654321 , I would create a group, say the group number is 601
I would then go to a handset and do the group forward code
Code is as follows *7141 (Group Number)9(Number to forward to) , the 9 is for an external line.
So it would be *71416019654321
I would then assign this group on the DDI table to the number thats to be forwarded so it would look like
DDI Destination
123456 601

Thanks for the great info. One thing that seems to be of insider knowledge is during the s/w installation it asks for a suffix code, i.e. KXTDA100XX where XX is AG, BR, CE...etc. I couldn't find anything in the manuals nor photos the client sent me. How important is this for the s/w to work as expected and/or where can I confirm the suffix XX value. I am in the US.

I think the issue is not having the US version of the MC s/w. It now reports an error when connecting "program not installed correctly" so I know the default password and USB drivers are good. If I choose the wrong system or try a different password I get a completely different error so at least the security wasn't thought out enough to give me that huge piece of information. I used to have access to KX downloads back in the day when I was a DBS dealer but the support site dbs576.com has since been taken down. The UK site freely has s/w downloads available all the way up to 7.8.X but USA is a bit more hard to come by in 2017...time to reach out to my tech buddies and have them pull out their old laptops, thanks for your help.

The USA Version of the Maintenance console does not ask for suffix codes.
And the lastest version for the USA Version is Version 7.8
I have seen KX-TDA50/G, KX-TDA100/200/600, KX-TDE100/200/600 and KX-NCP500/1000 as a USA system (i.e TDA, TDE and NCP series)

No client based in USA ever asked me to program a KX-TDA100D US based system.
Am yet to check if it's listed on the supported systems by Ver7.8 (US Version)

Thanks for the info and you are correct it does not have a D at the end, that was a typo and I've corrected the original post =)

I have VARs I work with that are dealers, I can get the s/w thanks for confirming I DO need the US version.

Ok, yay I got the s/w and I'm connected. Here's what I did.

1) I created a new portable station (unregistered of course) and set COS 1 (has CO fwd enabled) and set CF ALL w/ 9+1+AC+Number
2) I set DID DAY/NIGHT etc to new portable station number

Works like a charm!

Interesting - I had issues doing that in the past hence why I use groups.

I know right, I had similar concerns especially when i saw that the PRI was configured as a standard T1 I was sure I read somewhere that it would not work unless PRI but maybe the spec is the hardware because it is a PRI card in the cabinet config (confirmed photo). Oh well, I'm not gonna complain, it's working thankfully! I greatly appreciate all the support I've received here. Best of health and success to you all! Cheers
