key 10 on an M2317

i understand key 10 on an M2317 is for data. I do NOT know what that means, but one of my users has system speed dial programmed on key 10. how is it possible that this works? thank you.

If you aren't using the data option which I am sure that you are not. Since the early data options for a M2317 set were obsolete the day the came out of the factory, you can use any of the keys that are not soft keys which are keys 0 thru 11 (11 is usually for handsfree)for any feature or number that you want to assign.

I can put anything on button 10 except scr/scn.
