Hello Gurus -

Is there a minimum hardware and OS requirements to create a JumpStart server? I have an old Ultra1 with 64meg of memory and is running Solaris 5. Is this enough to be a JumpStart server?

Thanks in Advance.

jumpstart is using just 3 protocols: bootp, tftp and NFS, this was available with Solaris 2.5, so I guess it will work (slow, but will do)

BTW: I suggest to run an upgrade to at least Solaris 7 (I did not check hardware list if you can install Sol 7 on U1)

Best Regards, Franz

Thanks for the response.
I will see if this system can be upgrade first to Solaris 7 or 8, if not then I will try it on 5.
