Hi all, need your help as i am struggling to configure ITG ISDN trunk. I followed IP trunk guides but every time when i transmit data from OTM(TM 3.0) to ITG it gets OK but after reboot ITG TN (IPTI TN of MC32) always stays "locked out".and Dchannel always stays on AEST........after every reboot of MC32 it comes up with DISABLE channel and after disabling and then enabling again channels comes in LOCKOUT state with Dchannel on AEST.
I also replace MC32 and MSDL card and also changed IPE slot but result same. it is 61c release 4.5.
I have plugged MSDL into Slot 4 of Core 0 and its cable NTND26 one end is connected to P0 of MSDL and other end is connected to PIGTAIL cable which is then connected to Port-0 of PCMCIA inserted in MC32 . In Dchannel i have set DNUM as 13 (MSDL DIP switches are set to 13). I can easily enable/disable MSDL card....
Please guide

1- Why channels always comes up in Lockout state?? what
should i check for this problem?

2- Do i have to defile MSDL card in CEQU data?? as i
remember for ITG ISDN trunk i dont have to configure
MSDL card anywhere in CEQU data, just Dchannel
programming and DNUM setting of MSDL card.

3- Data transmit always gets OK and i can see data arriving
into MC32 when i connect CLI terminal of MC32 or Telnet
MC32. I have use two LOC code 66/67 and it was also
transmitted successfully...CLAN of MC32 is connected to
customer switch. MC32 is in slot 4-1-0 and i also tried
4-1-1.

Please help how could i avoid channels lockout and why D channel wont gets Active/establish.

Regards

DCHIP card goes into the front slot of the MC32 and the cable goes to a external DCH Serial port (ie. MSDL).

as long as the IP side of things is setup and the CLAN connection is good, you should see it establish.

check the boot codes (LED) on the face plate and check for any FXX codes (failure codes), look those up in the guide.

I think you can check the status from the CLI of the MC32.

Also, try to do an EDD

It shows LDR after boot, but the Dchannel which wont show UP and channels stays disable after boot, when i disable/enable channels got lockout and Dchannels stays AEST....Card LCD status is OK and showing LDR...
Any more help

just to clarify, when you say enable / disable channels, you mean enable the card "ENLC x x x" correct?

did the MSDL / DCH download ok? (messages showing it's downloading) when you enabled it?

also did you set the MSDL to (RS422 DTE) on both the programming and the card?

from what I remember the IP DCH should establish even if the card is disabled, so long as the PORT on the MSDL is enabled and the DCH is enabled, should be good.

as semsem2010 suggestd, you could have bad hardware, but you should see it on the CLI of the MC32 when its booting some messages about the DCHIP errors.....etc.

do you have the IO panel filter plugged in? otherwise, the CLAN connection has to be 10 half (you have to set it)

do a basic test, plug your PC lan connection via crossover cable to the CLAN connection to the ITG trunk card and ping the CLAN ip continuously for a couple of min "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -t" to stop do "ctrl c" to cancel and then look at the arp table on your PC by typing "arp -a" and make sure the MAC address matches the CLAN IP and MAC on the MC32 (Sticker) for the CLAN.

from the MC32 CLI you can try these as well

Command Description
DCHenable
DCHdisable
DCHestablish
DCHrelease
DCHstatus

hope some of this helps.

Can somebody knows how to repair this card?? as it is not used as storage device as other PCMCIA, i tried to read it contents but not succeeded.
Can i use same D channel PCMCIA for both 11c and 61c??? or could somebody mention exact engineering code of D channel PCMCIA for 11c?

Thanks

I took a search on an old Nortel parts database and found this below. I think it's the first item code you need?.

Item code = NTWE07AA Product = Pre-Programmed D-Channel Interface PCMCIA Card

Item code = NTCW84EA Product = PCMCIA D-Channel Pigtail Cable

Item code = NTRH9039 Product = H/W Assy PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter

Item code = A0683638 Product = 8MB PCMCIA Flash Card

Hi all, the Dchannel which i replaced have Eng. Code= NTWE07 and NTMF93 and it is working OK (it was at my toolbox and it is an old PCMCIA)...i got 02 other Dchannel PCMCIA card whose Engineering code are NTMF93 and NTVQxxxAE5. the faulty D channel has also Eng code NTMF93 and NTVQxxxAE5.
IS it NTVQxxx is new engineering code of D channel PCMCIA???
or is it wrong PCMCIA for IPT D channel.
Thanks
