hello,

i have an issue where i am unable to use the "route-to" feature from a vector. I have 2 sets of pri. 1 pri we'll call it 123 is able to use a route-to and forward to another 123 are code number outside the pbx. But I am unable to forward a 456 area code to a 123 area code number outside of the pbx. I have heard this be related to something called "tromboning" or something along that lines. Does anyone have any clues? I am using a g3siv6. Thanks.

It may be due to a setting - check your system features for "Trunk-to-Trunk Transfer" this should be set to all

Cheers,
NJ

PS: Please let me know if my advice has been of any use.

hey cyberjamos - i am set to all for the trunk to trunk transfer looks like it's something else.

Perhaps you could clarify the issue:

You have inbound calls via a PRI-x, coming to a VDN/Hunt-->Vec, using ROUTE-TO xxxx (that ARS directs down PRI-y?)and that doesn't work?

Cheers,
NJ

PS: Please let me know if my advice has been of any use.

that's correct cyberjamos.

calls come in via a pri to a vdn -> vector using route-to xxx then that is supposed to leave that pri and go to another pri of a different area code...doesn't work but i do the same thing and i forward it to another pri of the same area code of the incoming pri and that works fine.

Are you using the same COR for both PRIs? If not, is the COR used on the incomming PRI allowed to the 2nd PRI's COR and vise versa? Or the the COR being used on the VDN, is it allowed on the COR of the outbound PRI?

I have no technical solution to your management problem

hey ezncool,

both my pri's have the same cor and frl and the cor on the vdn is able to dial into the outbound pri's - wonder what this could be...hmm

Are the pri's different carrier's? We're had issues before where something had fallen out of a table with BellSouth but was working for AT&T calls.

what happens if you dial the the vdn via a routepattern of the outgoing pri? does that work? in that case its an interchange problem like ccdesigner sais...

avayafreakje - not sure what u mean by dial the vdn via a routepattern, right now i am forwarding out of a pbx to another 1 so it needs to go out through a 7 or 10 digit number. and yes all pri's are hosted by the same isp. thanks for the help.
