Issue with name displayed on stations and CAG

We have an area that wants to issue numbers to different people that dial in and for it to ring on a number of handsets at once. They want the name of the line showing on their stations so that they can identify which line it is calling before they answer.

As there are around 5 people in this group I thought that it would be easiest setting up virtual stations or stations with an X port with the required name on and that station then forwards the call on to a coverage answer group via a coverage path.

This works fine apart from the name that appears on their station. If the calling number has CLI withheld then it shows the trunk name before the name that was on the called virtual station. While if they present CLI it shows the number calling before the name that is on the virtual station called. Strangely it also shows a letter b or c after the name of the station (which is truncated).

Is there a way of stopping it saying the <number or trunk name> to <virtual station number> on the display of the phones?

I have tried changing setting on the trunk form and on the COR but cannot seem to prevent this.

I am using CM3.1 with 4610IP and 4621IP station for this.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Should solve it for you (screen shots from CM5.3 - YMMV)

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

I don't think we have those options in CM3.1 but I will check this out. Thanks.

Had a look at this and though helpful still doesn't do what they want as it still shows the text in the withheld or unavaialble field before it says to and then the station name. They just want the station called to show,

>shows the text in the withheld or unavaialble

have you tried setting the text to <blank>

I don't know of any other way...

Yes I have tried that. Unfortunately if it is set to blank then it does not allow you to select Replace Restricted Numbers or Replace Unavailable Numbers? to y on the trunk form. It ask that you set the CPN Replacement for that type.
