We have an area that wants to issue numbers to different people that dial in and for it to ring on a number of handsets at once. They want the name of the line showing on their stations so that they can identify which line it is calling before they answer.
As there are around 5 people in this group I thought that it would be easiest setting up virtual stations or stations with an X port with the required name on and that station then forwards the call on to a coverage answer group via a coverage path.
This works fine apart from the name that appears on their station. If the calling number has CLI withheld then it shows the trunk name before the name that was on the called virtual station. While if they present CLI it shows the number calling before the name that is on the virtual station called. Strangely it also shows a letter b or c after the name of the station (which is truncated).
Is there a way of stopping it saying the <number or trunk name> to <virtual station number> on the display of the phones?
I have tried changing setting on the trunk form and on the COR but cannot seem to prevent this.
I am using CM3.1 with 4610IP and 4621IP station for this.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
