Hi guys, certification question time - APSS piece of cake very much IP Office focused no issues there.

Distributor says we need APDS too... we don't (nor do we ever plan to) sell Avaya switches/scopia/wifi since imho we have better (less convoluted and cost effective) solutions.

For sure IP Office is a reasonable product, but the constant license issues (expensive and inflexible), old closed non-API, and recent terrible support experience are seriously making me consider alternative opensource products... anything that gives feature access buttons and auto-attendant is 90% of what most people need.

They announce their forums are now free to post in without a maintenance agreement - this sums up the whole mindset really.

Rant aside, anyone else struggling with APDS?

I'm assuming they are talking about APDS Avaya Midmarket Solutions, since that includes IP Office.

I know you need APSS the become a business partner, don't know if APDS is required for something.
Guess it's intended to learn you do design solutions but frankly APSS doesn't guarantee that people know what they are selling so.

I usually do APSS and APDS when I'm bored, if you worked with the product and done a few tests you'll start to figure out what answers they are looking for.

You don't need APDS either, you need 2 APSS (I think and one AIPS...that's it :)

APDS is required for avaya silver partner status.
You should have the APDS for your particular product, to help answer questions on Tek-Tips wherever possible.

Broadens the mind maaaan.

Talk to your Avaya CAM. You should be able to buy a co delivery pack which gives you access to about 20 courses and their exams.

In case of fire do not use lift.

Try a fire extinguisher.

Silver status gets us no more discount or actual benefits (beyond the Avaya spin).
I could pass it with ease I imagine, but why? It's just paying Avaya for a test that should be free and leaves you no more qualified or knowledgeable than when you started in reality :)
