IPOSE - SCN Failover to ISDN 1

I was of the understanding that if an SCN line fails due to network issues, the 'call initiation timeout' timer is reached, the IP Office will try the alternative routes configured in the ARS.
My plan was to use this in the event of network issues, ie SCN is up 1000 dials extension 1000. If the SCN is down, 4 seconds later the call will dial 55551000 over the ISDN based on my shortcode below.
Yes the handsets are registered to the gateway, I am actually trying this using a digital phone.

It is not working and not even attempting to work. What is the correct way to setup an SCN so in the even of network issues calls internal will go via ISDN or some backup trunk
 
The SCN fallback is to configure an ARS called **NET**. That ARS needs to contain shortcodes that will route calls to the remote system. How well it works at the other end depends on whether you have DDI etc configured, otherwise all your SCN fallback calls will arrive at your receptionist/AA just like normal external calls.

No, you can call the ARS anything you like - it then just won't work!

The IP Office core is aware when an SCN connection is not available pretty quickly. When that occurs, for any dialing of SCN extension numbers the system looks specifically for the **NET** ARS and uses it if present - so no flexibility in the naming.

If you're asking because you wanted to use another ARS that already exists for routing PSTN calls to other sites, then just configure the **NET** ARS to 'Out of Service' with the 'Out of Service Route' set to the ARS you want the calls to use.

Sizbut is 100% correct and a legend. See below ARS trace, if its called SCN_Fallback it fails. If its called **NET** it works regardless if it is set as the fallback ARS and follows the call initiation timeout.
Could not find this anywhere in the documentation, how did you know about this one? Do you have a special avaya doc you can send me?

Oh it is in the docs, you just didn't look hard enough. :) [Admission: It's was just a couple of sentences in a product update document from many release ago so not a secret feature but hardly advertised.]
